Association Overview

The association is privately funded, provides networking services free of charge to expand each members capability for growth.  The benefits of belonging to the association are numerous and include the ever popular benefit of online business and social networking.  As far as we know, we are the only local networking site that encompasses the entire Delmarva area.  If you're new to networking, you'll find that the Delmarva Merchants Association will deliver sophisticated solutions to fill your needs online through our exclusive members section and in person at our regular monthly meetings in Delaware and the Maryland/Virginia eastern shore.

Unlike many business networking groups you are not limited to one group in one area.  You can attend many meetings, in as many areas of Delmarva, (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, eastern shore) as you wish.  Our belief is that the more people you meet and who know about your business, the more chances you have for quality referrals.  This is something our members truly appreciate.

In addition to networking at monthly meetings we are in the process of converting much of our membership to an all digital or online network.  When you are logged into the system you will be able to contact other members, request connections, chat, exchange files, then add that member to your extended network.  Quite a nice little benefit courtesy of the digital era.

Step one: Online Community Networks

Each member registers with the site, see left login section, and is then given a v-card which can be used to link with other members.  This will allow you to connect with a wider network then you get by only attending meetings.  The idea is to build a manageable group of four other people that compliment your business or style of business.  Preferably business people in similar fields that know of companies that can use your product.  As an example.  Contractors with other non-competing contractors will know the same type of purchasing agent or business/home owner.  These people compliment each other and can help each other grow. The reason we use four is explained when you attend our meetings.

Will it help you?  Not if you don't try it.  Wayne Gretzki said, "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take." So true, so make it a point to register and start making connections and expand your sales force by as many people as you can.  After all, you don't have to pay them or match their social security and medicaid benefits if they help you sell your product and service.

Step Two: Your Private Network

We will introduce you to four people that compliment your business.  These are you inner circle friends and networking partners.  In networking five is the magic number, that's four plus you.  These are the people you will be your extended sales force.  This isn't a limitation, but rather a controlled group that watches out for each other.  You still are able to expand beyond that group, the only limitation is making sure you are able to have complete control over how much business you get and can keep up with during the course of the business week.

This is our two step approach to help you reach your full potential.  It works!  If you register now you will be able to begin with the online networking immediately.  If you become an association member ($10 per month to help offset the cost of meeting space) you will have full benefits to both groups.
